Back from the dead! I was pretty sick last week and could not get a comic done. Now I’m full of sweet sweet antibodies and ready to dig in for winter!
This one is just about having fun. Sure, there are probably some undertones you could take from it–and yes, I considered naming this “brokeback island” for all of 2 seconds–but mostly it’s about friendship. The Jack/Sawyer moments were always among my favorites in the series. I’d hoped that at some point before the end they would come to have more of a Luke/Han relationship and just be pals. Too bad it didn’t happen on TV. Lucky for us there are fan comics! High five!
*Want to win a fancy art print of this comic? Read on!*
Every now and then, in between the more zany strips, I’m going to illustrate my favorite moments from LOST. Jack and Locke staring down the hatch is totally one of those.
Let’s kick this mini-series off with a CONTEST!
I am giving away a wicked full-color art print of this comic on beautiful velvet cotton rag paper.
To participate is easy! Just leave a comment on this comic. After a week, on Wednesday June 30, I’ll literally put all the comments in a hat and randomly draw one. If i draw your name you win! See. Easy right?
So get commenting! Of course you can also buy a print of this or any of the LOST comics. And for every print sold I will plant a tree. No really!
P.S. Multiple comments are awesome, but will only be counted once. International friends are welcome, too!
UPDATE! (6/24) Thanks SO much everyone!! Reading your comments is amazing. I love you all! Maybe we should make this contest a reoccurring thing! I’m down if you are.
To answer some of the questions that have come in…
The deadline for the contest is the moment the next comic goes up, which is next Wednesday. So until then keep them coming! I will post the lucky winner here on the blog and get in touch over email. If you’re not following the RSS or Twitter already now is a great time to start!
It was pretty clear early on that LOST is mainly Jack’s story. Then it got kinda muddy there and he lost his way. It’s nice to see his character evolving again as we get closer to the end. He’s finally becoming the hero we always wanted. Like a Jack Potter or Jack Skywalker! hehehe
A few years ago one of my best pals phoned me up from comic-con. He had somehow just wrangled defenseless Damon Lindelof into a corner for a nice chat. Mostly comics talk. The best part for me was that Damon confirmed a bunch of our theories about LOST including the Watchmen/X-Men references. It’s probably common knowledge now, but for a couple of nerds from Utah it was an awesome validation at the time.
Can you guess Damon Lindelof’s favorite comic was while growing up? Watchmen. His second favorite? X-Men
Here we go! Season 6 premiered tonight, so what better time for a LOST doujinshi webcomic to hit the block? Things will get a little prettier around here as I figure out wordpress, but till then the comics come first! I’ll keep these coming at least once a week. So fire up that RSS!
Kicking things off with one for the daddies. Most daddies get no love in LOST. Whatever happened to daddy getting the big piece of chicken? Maybe at Charlie’s house. Enjoy!
