Desmond gets his call to action and so ends chapter 1 of the Desmond and Penny fairy tale.
I had a little break from the comic (2 whole weeks!), but it wasn’t a fun, leisurely break. My other professional life, while still in the realm of art, has gone in directions that I think most career-minded folks would be thrilled with–more responsibility, more power, higher title, etc–and I am good at it, but it doesn’t jive with my own aspirations. I would honestly be oh so happy to sit in a room and draw this all day so long as it paid the bills. Sounds like a goal for 2011!
My art is like therapy to everything else going on. So know that when I miss a week, it kills me. I look forward to making comics more than anything! Thanks for all your support. You’re the best!
I’m not really straying away from the canon with this story otherwise I’d have so much fun depicting Desmond’s days in the military. By the way, did you ever notice that Desmond’s sexiness directly corresponds to the length of his hair? It’s true. Happy holidays!!
And we have our villain! Every good fairy tale needs one. So what do you think? Is Mr. Widmore an evil jerk or just an overly protective dad?
…and now for something entirely different! Time to kick off my LOST children’s books series. Desmond and Penny’s story is the first of many fairy tales planned and once it’s done we should get a nice book out of it. Whenever time allows, I will update more frequently. I hope you’ll come along for the ride with me!
